Yoga as an Enlivenment Practice
The practice of yoga as a movement meditation gives us time to rest from our everyday stresses and strains, and time to settle in and have a a deeper experience of the self, both in body, heart, mind and spirit. I create a safe and sacred space for going inward, challenging and letting go of negative patterns and behaviors, turning on to new ways of moving and being and committing to the process of transformation. My sequencing comes from the wisdom of Forrest yoga and other styles of alignment flow and Vinyasa. I focus on fluidity to combat tension and stagnation, deep breath and core work to center and give strength, sustained asana to develop stamina and stability, and attention to the senses as a guide into the present moment. I do my best to make sequences accessible and safe for all bodies and I love studying human anatomy. I am passionate about helping my students extend their range of comfort, strength and confidence and journey to new places. I am certified RYT 200 with training from Ana Forrest through the Forrest Yoga Foundation Training and the Samadhi Yoga Center in Seattle, WA, under the guidance of Kathleen Hunt. In addition I have completed 2 years in the Forrest Yoga Mentorship Program with Forrest Yoga Guardian Colleen Millen. I have trained closely with and assisted inspirational yoga teachers such as Ana Forrest, Les Leventhal, Howard Cohn, and Kristin Lovelace. I completed the Forrest Yoga Advanced Teacher Training in September of 2014. I am currently on the teaching team of the Stellarflow Yoga Teacher Training, at Innerstellar Pilates and Yoga.
